Research

The Department of Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London achieved a 5 rating in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise. This indicates research of international excellence. The Department is a world leader in data mining, machine learning, and fundamental areas of theoretical computer science, and carries out outstanding work in bioinformatics and computational biology, distributed architectures, and vision and signal processing.

There are three main groups, but there is a significant amount of overlap between them.
